Alkaline Forming Foods – Vital For Your Health And Longevity
The foods you eat have an effect on your health based not only on fat, calories, and sugar, but whether or not they are acidic or alkaline as well. They leave alkaline residue in the bloodstream that helps to neutralize acidic waste that acid-based foods leave behind.
Too much acid in the blood leads to acidosis, excess acid levels that contribute to age-related bone degeneration, muscle loss and serious diseases. Alkaline forming foods help keep the blood levels more alkaline than acidic and prevent or decrease many common health problems.
Eating too acidic (nearly everyone in Western societies does) can cause or aggravate the following conditions:
- Colds and flu
- Low energy
- Nasal congestion
- Kidney stones
- Ovarian cysts
- Heartburn and other digestive issues/conditions
- And a lot more
By contrast, eating alkaline foods can improve/cure these conditions or reduce their risk of ever getting them.
Alkaline forming foods are:
- Almonds, tofu, soy nuts
- Seasonings and spices
Acid forming foods are:
- Commercial breakfast cereals
- Refined wheat flour
- White Rice
- Baked Produce
- All dairy products
- Artificial Sweeteners
- Soft Drinks
- Soy or Whey Protein
- Peanuts, peanut butter, and cashews
- Coffee and soft drinks
The ideal diet ratio is 80% alkaline foods and 20% acidic foods. However, the typical American/Western diet has an approximate ratio of 80% acidic foods and 20% alkaline foods.
When looking at those ratios it is quite clear why there is so much disease and allergies in our modern society. Most of them could be easily cured by simply changing the way we eat, getting off the train of binge eating and dieting with the nice side effect of having way more energy.
